Ran Allim!
The hectic week is over, finally. Man it’s been crazy. Zone Leader is a bunch of stuff and darn Elder Hill left a bunch of cleaning, reports, and everything else for us to figure out. I love him! I feel like I’m saving the the world everyday from some disaster. Ha I even have a player card for when we’re fighting crime, I am Alma the Younger and he is my playing card when everything is on the line. Ha
It’s good though, I enjoy it. My new companion is Elder Varo, he’s Fijian and he’ll be dying at the end of June. Dying in a missionary sense is going home. So I’m trying to figure out how everything goes down because he’s leaving to Guam at the beginning of June for visa problems. The new area, Mwan, is the only self-functioning branch in Chuuk. The missionaries don’t do anything at church. It’s weird! I’m not doing a thousand different things at church and it’s odd to just sit down and listen. There is an average of 100 at church in Mwan, and there are some serious studs in this branch. The District President, Matasio, is as studly as Macky and I love him to death! Him and his whole family are amazing. In Mwan some people have electricity and Matasio’s house does and his whole family has seen High School Musical 1 and 2! When we have family nights with them they all sing High School Musical songs. Ha Chuukese singing in English is kick-awesomely cool. I told them they would get along great with my family because my family loves high school musical as well.
Oh yeah, and the Zone Leader house is off the hook! It has lights, it has running filtered water, a stove, a microwave and they even have AIR CONDITIONING! Holy smokes it’s weird staying there. Everything is so easy inside the house I do nothing, compared to Wichap where we had to work hard to stay alive. It’s crazy, I hardly know what to do with myself. Even the “ftong” sleeping pad seems softer.
So Mom you can sleep easy now, I feel like I’m living in a whole new world (which is a good thing from your standpoint :) .
Kelsey looked beautiful in her grad invitation, thanks. And what happened to your hair! I won’t even ask what school you’re going to because let me guess . . . . . . you don’t know. Ha
Kenzie you need to stop growing, that’s crazy how much you’ve grown, and Zach you should probably start growing, especially in the muscle department. Sydnee keep growing those teeth ya cutie!
We had two baptisms last week. Two sisters Joan and Tesly Peter. It was a superb service and the Mwan Young Women sang a hymn in English, which is the best sounding thing in the world if you ask me. Joan and Tesly are studs and are the fruits of home teaching. Their dad was inactive and home teaching reactivated him and he wanted his daughters to get baptized as soon as possible. Yeah!
Downside, some retard wannabe gangster stole my wallet and my camera from our truck. So if I had a debit or credit card, better cancel that, and I don’t want to say buy a new camera but it would be nice to have one. If not, no worries I’m not here to take pictures, but to leave my testimony to all I meet that the truth is on the earth again, and that is really all that matters. Love you forever.

5/19/09 Letter

Family ua tongeikemi chapur!
This one might be a little short because madness has broken out in Chuuk. After getting ready for bed on Sunday, I got a call from Elder Hill which rocked my world. Early transfers! He first informed me that he was being transferred to Guam to be Zone Leader and then informed me that taking his spot as Zone Leader would be me. I had almost started crying when he said he was going to Guam, but than I practically fell over when he said that I would be Zone Leader. Man, I don’t know what’s going on. But I’ll be in Mwan now, and I suppose you guys will get a letter before this gets to you anyway. Super weird, and I’m going to miss Macky so much!
So right now I‘m pulling Zone and District Leader positions because we don’t have a new District Leader yet. Man, so that’s crazy and I don’t know what I’m doing, but that seems to happen a lot and I always seem to make it out alive, and that’s only because of the Lords help. So, once again I’ll put full trust in the Lord and at least I know I’ll come out alive. Ha
Your letters are amazing and I love you all. My bad it’s so short but I have loads to figure out in less than a day. Ha Stay good looking :)

Famini!!
It was great talking to you all on the phone! You all sound great!
District Conference was good. We had an attendance of 341 total, that’s from all the branches. Zone Conference was even better! Elder Stevenson gave a good training, and it’s always amazing to be around President Dowdle. President Dowdle’s love for us missionaries is indescribable, it emanates from him. He is an inspired man and the opportunity to serve under his guidance is amazing. I love him!
Nothing much has gone on this week. We came in on Friday to Muan, and I won’t return to Wichap until Wednesday evening. We had District Conference on Saturday and Sunday with Zone Conference on Monday, P-Day on Tuesday and an exchange with the Zone Leaders on Wednesday. Six days in total and five were with 8 -10 elders sleeping lined up in a tiny house, and man that can get hot.
So work wise not much has happened in the form of teaching lessons and finding investigators and such. But we have learned many things that will be able to benefit our work. It’s Chuuk and things definitely happen different than in other missions, but I enjoy every second!
Because I’m District Leader, I get to interview baptismal candidates for the areas in my district. It means Friday I don’t spend much time in my area but It’s exciting to see the preparation of investigators for their first ordinance.
Elder Stevenson felt inspired to talk to us about keeping our thoughts virtuous. He said a great way (and possibly the best) to keep virtue with us is to memorize scriptures, hymns, or inspirational quotes/poems. I think that is a kick-awesome idea, but I’m already a step behind you Dad. You’re already doing good stuff like that which is impressive. I’m starting as soon as I get back to Wichap. When my mind is not on the work it can wander pretty easily, but with things I’m trying to memorize I’ll be able to keep my thoughts on spiritual things. It’s simple but I’m super pumped about it, it’s going to rock my world!
Nothing exciting happening, but I’ll be sure to let you know when it does happen. Thank you for all your love and support.
