I don’t think, or it seems to me, that you’re not receiving all my letters. I’ve sent one every week I’m pretty sure so I don’t know what happened. I could have easily lost my mind, there are a thousand things going on and I’m able to remember them all only with the help of the Lord so it could have got lost in my mind somewhere. ha I don’t think all the boxes have come . . . . but I could be losing my mind again. I count four boxes and one package with that CD in it so 5? I definitely didn’t get the oatmeal raisin cookies box, I would remember that! :)
We’ve been pumping Christmas spirit into the nervous systems of all the missionaries and members here in Chuuk! ha Especially the missionaries since Christmas time can be distracting, so we combine Christmas and missionary work and by golly we get good results! :)
The past couple of weeks we’ve had some great opportunities to do service for recent converts and members. Since Christmas time lots of parties happen which mean lots of cooking which means they need a lot of firewood! (So call the studs!) So Elder Kuss and I have tackled a couple huge trees to help our recent converts and members get enough firewood. And I’ll tell you that is hard work! That’s not for the faint of heart! ha I won’t brag, but I’ll just say I’m pretty darn good at hacking down a tree with an axe! If I was consistently doing that I would be ripped out of mind. ha So Zach if you’re feeling really manly and muscly go cut down a big ol’ Christmas tree with an axe. Then we’ll see who really has the muscles.
We just set another baptismal date here in Mwan!! Estino is his name and he’ll be getting baptized on the 2nd of January. Estino is a members husband and for years has been the number one fighter in all of Mwan, if not Weno, and he looks like it too! He’s a very very very strong individual and with a close shaved haircut he could scare just about anyone if he got mad. Which he used to do a lot, but he has pulled a complete 180 and is headed in a whole new direction. He’s a stud, in short. He has a bunch of cement weights and other random things that he lifts so we get a long great and will lift together occasionally. Estino reinforces my testimony that the Lord is constantly working among His people and He is preparing people for me and Elder Kuss to find! I especially admire Chuukese because they are so aware of God and His influence in their lives, it’s amazing because the Lord prepares them and they willingly submit, and then all Kuss and I do is come lead them a long a little further and bam! They’re baptized and rocking it. My personal belief is that since they’re islanders and have purer blood of Israel in them, and so many awesome blessings promised them from scripture, that that is the reason Chuukese are susceptible to Heavenly Father influencing their lives. Because it’s so easy once you find the prepared! I’ve already written this but the hardest part of missionary work, at least in Chuuk, is finding those that have been prepared, after that just grab hold and hang on because it goes fast.

Pumped for Christmas

Look at my Christmas spirit! I'm so pumped for Christmas! I found this paper (red construction) and so I'm making Christmas chains and snowflakes and I'm putting it up all around our house. It's studly. I did get the box of Christmas decorations you sent and I've already put them up! Thanks for that shirt. I needed it and that's a pretty sweet soccer jersey you got Zach. Thanks to dad for getting all the ladies to write me :) All those cards are probably as many real letters I've gotten from girls on my mission. ha Ok, not really but close probably.
Did Real Salt Lake really win the MLS cup?! I can't believe it. That's so insanely amazing. Did you all watch it? Some more info on that would be cool. I saw the results from the NIKE Cup and BYU got dominated by Air Force. Just for the peace of your minds I weigh in at a solid 185, and it's solid trust me. I eat healthier than any other missionary in our mission, President and Sister Dowdle will back me on that, and when I get home and get up on the blocks people will be scared. That's really what I'm going for, the scare factor, because I definitely won't be the quickest fish in the sea when I get back. (Elder Tuaitanu says "hi" right now, and he also wants you all to come to his homecoming just like Hill, even if he comes home after me).
The Sameone and Marsine Joseph family just got on the plane to go to the Phillipines to go to the temple!! I'm pumped out of my mind for them. I gave them a camera so they could take bunches of pictures so that they can get them developed. I also took some family pictures of them as a whole, in their Sunday best and it would be out of the world cool if for around Christmas I could give them an 8x10 or bigger framed family picture!! That would be gangster.
It hasn't been long since last Pday and those days in between were filled with craziness and taking care of the zone so that it didn't fall apart. We solve crime and save the world regularly here in Mwan but having been doing it for over 6 months it's natural to me. I figure it must be how super hero's feel; saving the world just comes naturally. ha ha
I'm at the end of my journal so another journal for Christmas would be sweet. I'm pumped for Christmas! We are kind of changing the way we approach missionary work this Christmas season. We're thinking of preparing a message about Jesus Christ specifically for Christmas that we will share with people when "finding". At the end of our message of Christmas and Christ we will link it to the Restoration and teach Joseph Smith and then ask for a follow-up visit where we would teach the complete Restoration. That goal is to bring Christmas spirit to the missionaries and to those we find so that their hearts will be open to another great message: The Restoration of Christ's church!! I'm excited and I think it will work well. Who can say "no" to a Christmas message? :)

Shoes Not Important

Holy smokes that was so cool to see that picture of you four and Elder Hill! I loved it! He's such a stud!! Everyone, meaning the elders here, were jealous that you all went and saw him. They want you to come to their talks when they come home as well mom. I tell everybody that my mom's a stud so they all want to be your friend on facebook too. ha
Congratulations Zach! You're one of those punk deacons! ha Just kidding, I 'm pumped for you man, I like your hair, it's sweet and I wish I could do it to mine. :) In that pic with Elder Hill I didn't even recognize my sisters. They have changed so much I had to keep checking they were really you guys. You both look good.
President Dowdle enjoys asking me about my family and I tell him all about you guys. He wanted me to specifically tell you mom and dad both that he is very thankful to you both, for me. He said you would understand, so there you have it :)
We've been cram packed full of over one thousand three hundred sixty two things to do for the past three weeks but we're still alive and that's blessing enough. ha We had zone p-day on Thanksgiving. We had a Turkey Bowl and quarterbacked the winning team. It had rained a ton so it was all out mud football which was a blast! We then had Thanksgiving Dinner along with some activities at the Duncans. Elder Kuss and I brought back lots of it from Guam.
Friday Elder Ako had to come back in because of a serious foot infection, we took him to "death hospital" and they admitted him into the ward which is scary as anything I've seen in movies. So we've been running to and from the hospital making sure he wasn't going to die or anything.
Monday we were still watching out for Ako and bringing the rest of the missionaries in for interviews, on Tuesday we had zone conference and it was extremely off the wall spiritual, and interesting with Elder Kuss training. He can't do it in English so he did it all in Chuukese which was great for me but hard for many. Overall we pulled it off and it was a success, the missionaries had good things to say about it, which is a nice thing to hear after much work.
I miss Sorenson like crazy, but he's doing well in Guam. I'm feeling that I'm going to go to Guam and he'll come back to Chuuk. I'll do it for him because I love his guts!
Elder Kuss doesn't have shoes, church shoes, so that would be a sweet thing for Christmas. I believe he wears 8 1/2 or 9. His shirt size is 15 1/2 and he loves ties. ha Me, I'm good, but for your sake mom, a new Colgate 360 toothbrush would be awesome. Just the regular kind. My exercise shoes are thrashed to a new level, both just flap open. You can't really even call them shoes, but yeah they're having a rough time. Both my crocs have large, large holes in the bottom of them, but those are just crocs and shoes not all that important. Of course I love ties and some studly ones are always gangster looking on me. ha I'm good though really. But I guess those are some ideas.
I love you all and hope you'll all have an amazing Holiday Season (I dream about snow). Stay safe don't die, and if any of you go skiing or snowboarding I would like to see pictures!

Well I'm on my way to Guam again. And fortunately it's just for another Zone Leader Council. I'll be back in Chuuk before you all even read this letter.
I miss Elder Sorenson like crazy! He's such a stud! We were the missionary equivalent of Stockton and Malone, we were unbeatable! It seems all good things come to end for a season. I love his guts and I'm way pumped to go see him again in Guam. Along with Elder Mafileo. I'm so pumped to seem them! Part of my brain got on the plane with Sorenson last Friday because I'm more handicapped now than ever before! ha :)
Did you go to Elder Hill's farewell? I hope you did, and I hope you met Fox as well. Man, I love those guys! Fox is getting married next year and he asked Sorenson and I to be two of his five groomsmen. Yeah man!
I love Elder Kuss and I'm learning many new words from him which I love! He knows very little English so I'm put with most of the ZL responsibilities and Zone Conference should be interesting. No worries, because the people respect him much differently than the rest of us, and that's a good thing and gets us into many houses. He is more than excited to be back in Chuuk and loves talking about the church to everyone.
Kerfin got called to the Marshall Islands mission, and I wish I knew he was still alive but he hasn't written as of yet.
Thanks for checking on school mom, I haven't declared any major but I think Exercise Science is what I will declare. But, whatever, I guess we'll just think about that next year.
It is so hot in this airport! I'm sweating like crazy. Has it snowed yet? My heart is beating fast because I'm scared to get on the plane! ha It's not as bad as last time but I keep thinking that I'm going to get on the plane and someone will talk to me in English and I'll have no idea how to respond!
This transfer will be super crazy! We're going to Guam this week, next week we have an exchange with Sapuk, Thanksgiving, and Zone P-Day. The week after is Zone Conference and the AP's come tour Chuuk. The two weeks after that are filled with four more exchanges! Plus a new missionary arriving. The week after that is Christmas and I call home, plus Zone P-Day. Then New Years in Chuuk which is the most insane party I've ever seen and then we might have time to take a breath after all that! That took me past this transfer and into next year! The end of this year is packed. Buckle up and hold on Brady. ha
This is really a long letter, but my love lasts even longer. ha How corny! I love you, don't die!

New Companion

I received the Halloween box, thank you so much! I even got a letter from Kelsey which was awesome!
Last week was insane! It started with interviews with President on Thursday for all the missionaries, plus a cooking demonstration with Sister Dowdle that evening, Wednesday we had an exchange with Elders on Toloas, Tuesday was P-day and Monday we took care of zone needs. All of Friday was eaten up by Zone Conference. Saturday and Sunday was District Conference so all the elders were in for that as well. It was a 4 day 3 night circus fest!
I like that mom knows when our transfers happen and is pumped about what will happen. Well, believe it or not, I’m still in Chuuk! Throw a party! Unfortunately Sorenson is not. He got the call to Guam, and will be the new Zone Leader in Guam replacing Elder Hill. My new companion will be Elder Kuss! Rich Kuss, was one of the preparing missionaries while I was on Romalum. Him and Josuae. So I already know him really well and it will be pretty sweet to work with him. From what President told me his English still isn’t too good so I’ll be a Chuukese master in a couple months (even more so than I already am :)
But I will be going to Guam next week for Zone Leader council. I’m pumped for that because I’ll get to see Sorenson again and eat COLDSTONE ice cream! Oh my goodness, last time we went, we walked into Coldstone and Sorenson and I were intoxicated it smelled so good. I’m pumped to take Rich Kuss to eat at Coldstone. ha
Elder Lange is coming back from Guam on Friday, so I’ll be seeing him more often. We are also getting another new missionary, 100% Mauri from New Zealand. Which is good because we need more islanders in this zone. Islanders are easy to get along with on big 4 day 3 night sleepovers and get along with the people really well.
When Sewel was baptized that was the end of all our progressing investigators, so Elder Kuss and I will have a bunch of time to go finding! I’ve been in Mwan for 6 months and there’s not much I don’t know so, as in Wichap we’ll be going over much of the area again, but it’ll be good because Kuss is Chuukese so they can’t turn him away. Kuss is going to be a stud!
Well I love your guys’ faces, so don’t go do anything drastic. Thanks for talking to Tim Powers, mom (you can tell him that I’m going to rock everyone’s socks off when I’m back there) keep me informed and updated but your plan sounds good for now. Dad thanks for the results and keep ‘em coming. Oh, mom maybe if you e-mail Tim again ask him about the other guys that were freshmen with me, if he knows anything about them and if they plan on swimming right when they get back. Just wondering. Love you lots, don’t die :)

Circus Fest

Man so today was a national holiday so the post office was closed. Meaning I couldn’t read your letter and reply to anything in it. All is good, no worries!
We got General Conference. They sent actual DVD’s to us! It was so cool! It was the first conference that I’ve watched or read all the talks of since I’ve been on my mission. That’s weird. ha. The places I was in at the times when General Conference happened didn’t have access to any stuff like that. Another blessing of serving in Muan.
Power has been terrible as of late. The power company got a new manager and he’s supposed to save CPUC (the company) a bunch of money, but he’s not all there because he just never turns power on now. We’ve been days without power and without power this house is more fit for a sauna. It’s a shoebox with no holes which equals constant sweating by my body. Anything I write down during studies gets smeared by sweat from my arms, hands, and face. But hey I love Chuuk to death and wouldn’t want in any differently. :)
We have a huge circus fest coming up this week. We have zone conference on Friday (which means Elders are IN for interviews on Thusday) and then Saturday and Sunday we have district conference. So what that amounts to is four days of putting up 12 elders in this shoebox. Plus doing every the Presidents needs to make sure everything happens smoothly. Some how feeding all the elders during those four days (which at the end of the transfer means no one has money except Elder Sorenson and I :)) Making sure all the elders still somewhat like each other by the time they all leave on Sunday, and just about 562 other things that we have to do. It’s all good, because Elder Sorenson and I are so good at running like chickens with our heads cut off you can hardly even tell that we don’t have a clue as to what we’re doing. I love it!
This weekend will be fun! Zone Conference is going to be kick-awesome amazing, and we’ve planned sweet zone exercise activities for the morning. We’re going to have a Chuuk Zone Family Home Evening. It’s going to be insanely awesome! The reason we have all sorts of sweet activities planned is that on these long sleep overs everyone’s patience starts running a little thin, and I don’t like that. So if we have sweet activities going on no one can lose their temper too bad. ha. I’m pumped!
Sewel got baptized! We got him yes we did! We baptized him before church. Wayne, our Branch President, performed the baptism and I performed the confirmation. It was amazing as all baptisms are and he bore his testimony during testimony meeting which was really neat.
Power just came on! Yeah! Celebrate, have a party. Hopefully it will stay on for more than an hour so that I can party during my sleep. ha

Man so today was a national holiday so the post office was closed. Meaning I couldn’t read your letter and reply to anything in it. All is good, no worries!
We got General Conference. They sent actual DVD’s to us! It was so cool! It was the first conference that I’ve watched or read all the talks of since I’ve been on my mission. That’s weird. ha. The places I was in at the times when General Conference happened didn’t have access to any stuff like that. Another blessing of serving in Muan.
Power has been terrible as of late. The power company got a new manager and he’s supposed to save CPUC (the company) a bunch of money, but he’s not all there because he just never turns power on now. We’ve been days without power and without power this house is more fit for a sauna. It’s a shoebox with no holes which equals constant sweating by my body. Anything I write down during studies gets smeared by sweat from my arms, hands, and face. But hey I love Chuuk to death and wouldn’t want in any differently. :)
We have a huge circus fest coming up this week. We have zone conference on Friday (which means Elders are IN for interviews on Thusday) and then Saturday and Sunday we have district conference. So what that amounts to is four days of putting up 12 elders in this shoebox. Plus doing every the Presidents needs to make sure everything happens smoothly. Some how feeding all the elders during those four days (which at the end of the transfer means no one has money except Elder Sorenson and I :)) Making sure all the elders still somewhat like each other by the time they all leave on Sunday, and just about 562 other things that we have to do. It’s all good, because Elder Sorenson and I are so good at running like chickens with our heads cut off you can hardly even tell that we don’t have a clue as to what we’re doing. I love it!
This weekend will be fun! Zone Conference is going to be kick-awesome amazing, and we’ve planned sweet zone exercise activities for the morning. We’re going to have a Chuuk Zone Family Home Evening. Those pics of Zach's interception are pretty sweet! Nice work bro! Keep representing for the Wells family. McKenzie I'm so pumped that you're starting high school swimming. You'll have so much fun, make sure to love every second of it! I was always on the Blue Team and Blue always won :) Sydnee you're nine! Holy smokes you're so big. I liked your carpet burn on your head picture. Very pretty.
I got the pictures of me mom thank you so much. My Chuukese moms will love them! Man, I sure look different. ha I've been eating so healthy lately and pumping the weights, so I'm looking good :) My motivation has been BYU Swimming. I don't know why but I got excited for their season. Thanks for the results of the Pacific Invitational meet dad. All-american Brandon Watson is nice to have back.
I loved the positive affirmation by Sydnee, that's pretty amazing of her. I can just see her smiling big all the time.
That is something I've done since day 1 of my mission is to smile. At first I just smiled always to hide that I was scared or not sure what I was doing. I wasn't about to let anyone see that so I just smiled and no one could tell :) As time went on I just kept smiling through rain and shine, rough and bad, stupid and dumb and coming out on the other side. I was sailing smooth instead of all beat up from what happened. I like it, so I kept smiling. It's now at a point that whenever something goes different than planned or something turns rotten I, out of habit, just smile and nothing seems terrible after that. I have so much to smile about that I can't stop; from sun up to sun down. I'm doing the best work in the world and that in itself is enough to keep anyone smiling. Not to mention that I have a studly good looking family at home (and that includes, of course, all extended members :)) who love me enough to keep writing to their son and brother who lives in Chuuk. Thank you!

Last week we had zone p-day and then I went on an exchange to the island of Uman for a couple of days so that is why I wasn't able to send a letter. In Uman Elder T and I caught a rat, because their house is crawling with them, we showed it who was boss and we'll just say that he won't be coming around anymore. Uman is a really great island, it's probably my third favorite after Romalum and Paata (and I haven't even worked there for more than a couple days. ha). Elder T and I also wrote a song in Chuukese for the ukelele.
I have a nickname that I need to tell you. It's "charame". "Charame" is like Chuukese sweet talk but it's really complex, more so than any sweet talk in English, anyway, I know a lot of it so the Chuukese gave me that as my nickname. No DON'T WORRY I'm not wooing all the Chuukese ladies out here but maybe it will help me in the long run when I return home. ha
A watte ai tong ngenikemi. Ewe tong a nom rei fan itemi ese kuch fonufan ika fan sat. Chechemeni pur ai tong esap much! Love your guys' guts!
